International Arbitrator
Geologic Background
Greg V. Etter’s geologic background makes him a better arbitrator for two reasons. First, the disciplined, logical, analytical thought process required of a scientist is a valuable asset to an arbitrator. Second, Greg’s scientific background allows him to quickly grasp scientific concepts and data of import in the context of commercial disputes.
Greg received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology from Colorado State University in 1981. Greg’s undergraduate course work included biology, chemistry, hydrology, physics, and statistics. After graduating college, Greg was employed by Arco (Anaconda Minerals and Arco Exploration), where he was engaged in mineral and oil and gas exploration. Working throughout the Western United States as part of a small exploration team built the foundation of Greg’s knowledge of the minerals industry. This knowledge, and Greg’s scientific background, served him well in his career in the mining industry, where he ultimately became Vice President at two international corporations.
